Worlds Enough: Mythica

Every creation myth is true.
There is no contradiction.
Let me explain.
When the Gods looked on the deeps of Khaos, all was darkness and void, or an endless ocean, or a sea of milk, or the mist of Ginnungagap. All of that is metaphor, perspective on Khaos, which is truly indescribable.
Then, according to each story, some god or gods made the world. They raised it from the deep, or crafted it, or said let there be light. And so it was, and it was good. But these were little worlds, floating in Khaos. Each had their own ‘Known World’, like Midgard, like Achaea. Solid pieces of World have gravity, and attract one another, forming larger worlds, shared by the differing groups of gods, some of whom war, or wed.
This happens/happened in all worlds that are Created.
The Earth is no exception. The Greek titans and gods made their part of the world, the Norse made theirs, the Sumerians made theirs, etc. These worlds came together, but are not truly combined, not yet, anyway. The sun of Midgard, and its god, are not the same as the sun of Greece. The worlds are (mostly) still flat, they don’t become round or connected to a greater universe until much later.
In this world, there is no difference between history and myth. The gods contend with one another, and carouse with one another, and fight common foes together . . . for every facet of Creation has its foes in Khaos.
To a certain extent, these battles are physical. Gods and titans strive, bleed, die. Demigods and heroes face terrible monsters.
But on another level, the fight is for control of Creation, or to destroy it, or to preserve it, and that is as much about legend, myth, and true Belief as about physical battles. Reality is consensual . . . not on a conscious level, except for a few, but on a subconscious collective level. What most sapients believe about reality is True.
So. Fight for your dreams, for a world worth living in, for the World to continue at all.
Welcome to Mythica.
* Larger than life mythic heroes, demigods, and gods fight for control and preservation of reality against opposed divinities, monsters, and the forces of Primordial Khaos, including the Echthroi.
*Belief and bloodshed go hand in hand when contending over the nature of all existence.
*Everything is true. Nothing is forbidden.
*Choose, but choose wisely.
