Kuroyama International
Kuroyama International
The history of Kuroyama International actually predates the modern megacorporation by a wide margin. Originally founded years prior to World War II, it was one of the family owned zaibatsu that dominated the Japanese economy, started by a very old family of the samurai caste to provide weapons and technology to the war machine of Imperial Japan. Instead of breaking up after the war like the others (sort of) did, it went underground, maintaining its holdings through cut-outs and shell companies, with the aid of an extensive alliance with the Yakuza. Which of course they officially deny. What is definitely known, is that when the U.S. Withdrew from Japan in 2035, they were in an unassailable economic position. They quickly absorbed the asstes of the other former Zaibatsu: Mitsui, Mitsubishi, and Suitomo, including their banks and their extended networks of companies, including such luminaries as Toyota and Sony. Now, they truly controlled the Japanese economy, and officially, the nation of Japan nationalized their assets in 2041 to break their monopolies. What actually happened was rather the reverse . . .Kuroyama staged a hostile takeover of the Japanese government, much like the Shoguns of Old. Sometimes, Kuroyama Shin is even referred to as the Shadow Shogun . . . or even the Oyabun.
What the Black Mountain does not own in Japan, it controls, by manipulating the politicians who officially hold power, by intimidating any upstarts that think they could be rivals. They have their fingers in literally every commercial pie in the world.
