the Achaean League of Allied Republics: (They are the ones with Myrmidons) Multi species. Capital planet is New Atlantis in the Achaean System.

Religion of the Achaean League is intellectual, more about Philosophy. They revere certain Olympian gods as ideals, especially Athena. Wisdom, caution, determination, and self control are important virtues in their society. Service to others is promoted as both vital and righteous.
Government is a democratic bicameral republic with one set of elected officials drawn from a dedicated class trained from an early age to govern, selected from children with appropriate aptitudes regardless of origin, as well as another supplementary set elected from specifically working class people. Neither may have any income or other compensation not provided by their government salary or stipend, nor live anywhere but Senatorial and Congressional housing. Government is much more service than it is privilege, at least in theory.
All adult sapient citizens are expected to do a minimum of 2 years civil or military service after mandatory school and before upper education. All adult sapient citizens thus have very basic weapons and combat training, even if they were civil service, they all undergo a 10 week basic training course that is the same for both services. Civil service does include law enforcement.
All sapient persons have the right to refuse to serve, and may choose which of the two branches they serve in. If they do refuse to serve, they do not become citizens, and do not receive the right to vote or be elected to public office, but have all other rights and privileges accorded to free sapients.
To a great extent, except where war has caused shortages and rationing, the Achaean League is post scarcity, and all citizens and residents are provided with basic food, housing, and healthcare. There is also free entertainment of various kinds, but luxuries, special foods, better housing, etc, are all part of compensation packages offered to citizens and residents for service either to the League or to individual companies.
