The Nøkken

The Nøkken is a dangerous fey being that lives in ponds and lakes, luring prey within the sound of their song with its lambent eyes, and then into its grasp, and its water, with a hauntingly beautiful song. Some simply sing, others appear to play the violin.
In its true form, a Nøkken has corpse-like, fish-belly skin, brightly glowing eyes, and hair like moss. Its long arms end in vicious claws and its wide mouth is full of shark-like teeth. It often takes the form of a very handsome young man or woman to better lure in its prey.
